Day #18 African Adventure

Tongabezi, Zambia - Johannesburg, South Africa - Windhoek, Namibia

Oh another early morning wakeup call, except this time it’s not a call but Given coming down and telling us it’s time to get up. This morning we are being picked up for a tour, at 7:30am, of the falls from the Zimbabwe side and then being taken to the Victoria Falls airport for our flight to Johannesburg and then our connecting flight to Windhoek, Namibia.

Day #15 African Adventure

Well it's the last 5am wake up call, the last safari trip and as if to say it's time to go the wind is whipping around the Rock Lodge, it's much cooler than the previous days and the sky is covered with dark grey clouds. This morning we take extra clothes as it is not going to be a warm drive.

Day #14 African Adventure

Ulusaba - Day 4

5am comes around far too quickly, especially when you have been out in the bush partying with the locals. Even so I jump out of bed and headed out to the balcony to see the sunrise, imagine my surprise when I see the veld completely covered in fog, it was quite breathtaking and totally unexpected. I couldn’t even see Safari Lodge.

Ulusaba - Tony's 60th Birthday

5am and that damn wake up call, especially painful this morning as I've now reached the ripe old age of 60 years, but this is Ulusaba and there is no sleeping in! So up and dressed Kelly and I headed for the bar to meet up with Johan and the rest of our crew and what a cruel bunch they, are no sympathy for old folk. After a bit of digging how they would tow me behind in a wheel chair and the fact that they had an additional ranger joining us so two of them could lift me into the vehicle I climbed aboard, unaided, and we set off.
