My Story
I've had over 26 years experience in the field of computer graphics design and have been involved it's development and commercial acceptance since 1984 after joining Quantel, one of the innovators in digital technology.
In 1987 I formed my first company, Electric Paint, in Hollywood, California. Using the first commercial Quantel Graphic Paintbox in America the company went on to produce digital artwork for a number of the major motion pictures from 1987 until I left the company in 1995.
Video: In 1989 I was interviewed by Jon Teschner, a colleque and friend, who was also there in the early days of digital graphics. His design program, "The Design Link", was syndicated via cable from Atlanta. In the interview I discuss the work I was doing with digital imaging in movie posters and set design.
With experience gained producing digital artwork for major U.S. entertainment companies such as the Walt Disney Company and 20th Century Fox, advertising agency Leo Burnett-Kyodo and as an integral part of the development teams for leading American software developer Live Picture, my passion was, and still is, to translate that experience into providing exceptional online experiences.
Image: In late 1990 I met Kai Krause and started working on the development of a unique imaging program called "Live Picture". Using mathamatics to post render complex manipulation of image data it allowed huge images to be retouched and modified using the low memory and slow processing power of the computers of the day. These images were taken at Tolouse in France, the headquarters, and show the original interface designs being whiteboarded. In fact a number of the concepts were introduced to Photoshop a number of years later.
I formed Red Square in 1995 and over 13+ years built it into one of Australia's prominent Web development companies with clients such as Maersk Shipping, Mark Webber, Panasonic Australia, The Good Guys, Telstra, Youth Hostels of Australia and the oneworld Airline Alliance.

In October 2009, the Red Square business merged with webqem, pooling resources, talent and clients. Red Square today provides a vehicle for myself to offer services as a Creative Technologist for webqem primarily in the area of Dynamic Imaging and consultancy services.
I shoot and produce 360º panoramas for a number of companies including Panasonic Australia, Orion Expedition Cruises and Youth Hostels of Australia.
